According to a report by the United Nations Environment Programme, approximately 1.5 billion scrap tires are generated globally each year, making tire pollution a hot topic in the field of global environmental protection. Research by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) clearly points out the potential environmental risks of scrap tires. Harmful chemicals in tires can leach into the soil and groundwater, eventually entering the food chain, posing a long-term threat to human health, especially in developing countries where illegal dumping and indiscriminate burning of scrap tires are common, not only destroying the ecological environment but also severely endangering the quality of life for local residents. Scrap tire pyrolysis technology is a method of heating and decomposing tires in an oxygen-deficient condition, converting scrap tires into fuel oil (heavy or light oil), pyrolysis carbon black, and non-condensable gases through the pyrolysis process. It provides a better solution for creating new profit value in tire recycling businesses, not only improving resource utilization efficiency and reducing pollution but also providing technical support for achieving resource recycling and sustainable development. Niutech from China is hailed as an international expert in continuous pyrolysis technology. The company’s independently developed “industrial continuous scrap tire pyrolysis production line” with full intellectual property rights can transform scrap tires into high-quality fuel and commercial-grade pyrolysis carbon black, which can be used in the production of new tires, achieving true comprehensive recycling and utilization of tires.
Niutech’s industrial continuous scrap tire pyrolysis production line is composed of “intelligent feeding system, continuous pyrolysis system, oil separation and cooling system, circulating water cooling system, flue gas purification system, intelligent discharging system, and fully automated intelligent control system.” Firstly, after being shredded, the scrap tires are transported by a conveyor belt into the feeding machine, and then continuously fed into the pyrolysis reactor through a sealed feeding combination device. The scrap tires undergo pyrolysis reactions inside the reactor, yielding high-temperature oil and gas, steam, and solid products. High-temperature oil and gas, along with steam, are cooled in the oil separation and cooling system to obtain liquid products and non-condensable gas. The liquid products are pumped to the storage area for temporary storage. The solid products are cooled indirectly by circulating water, separated by a magnetic separator to remove steel wires, and then transported to the solid product material warehouse after reaching a safe temperature. The non-condensable gas, after purification and pressure stabilization, is transported to the heating device, where it is used together with the high-temperature flue gas collected by the waste heat recovery technology to provide heat for the pyrolysis of materials. The exhaust gases, after being purified by the flue gas purification system, meet the strictest national environmental protection requirements and are emitted in compliance with standards. The entire production line uses a fully automated intelligent control system, especially for real-time monitoring and intelligent operations in core components and key areas, to achieve safe, efficient, stable, and high-quality operation.
